RIVERS UNIVERSITY ROLLS OUT ANOTHER POLICY

By Dr. Helen Chimezie

The management of Rivers State University has again brought up another policy to curb indecent dressing amongst male and female students on campus. This is coming after the implementation of the "no fees, no exams" policy that led to a protest by aggrieved students on Monday.

In a letter signed by the Registrar of the school and Secretary of the Senate Dr. S.C Enyindah, the school's management enumerated dresses and dressing considered indecent.

Wearing of Spaghetti gowns, short skirts, nose rings, tattoos, ankle chains, long eyelashes, tattered jean trousers, bon shorts, bathroom slippers, and blouses that expose the naval or breast, are termed indecent.

Also, listed as indecent and no longer acceptable among students of RSU are colouring of hair, and sagging of trousers by both male and female students on campus.

The Registrar said the Senate of RSU took the decision to ban indecent dressing at its meeting on 29th of September, 2022.

He directed that all students should take note and comply accordingly as enforcement of the directive will begin immediately.
